Chateau De Chef

Last year I shot two of Los Angeles’s top chefs for Locale Magazine’s November issue. It was awesome to work with two men who have such a love and knowledge of food (one of my favorite things). Here are the tear sheets and images from that shoot.

Ian Gresik, the man in the top photos, is the Chef of an amazing Italian restaurant called Drago Centro in down town LA (I’ve been there once, it was absolutely heavenly). Aaron Robbins is the director of Culinary operations for a group of bad ass restaurants in LA. They were both such amazing people. We spent our time together talking food, family and life.

Flex Watches 2015 Spring/Summer

This past Summer I shot for Flex Watches. I did two shoots for their Venice line of watches, showcasing the fun colors and versatility of the watches. The images were used for their social media and website. Here are some of the images:

The beach shots were done in Venice Beach and Manhattan Beach while the nature shots were done at Vasquez Rocks National park. Shooting watches is harder than I had expected. The wrist is an odd thing to showcase. I had to use a lot of creative posing and angles to make the watches look their best. You can shop these watches on flexwatches.com.

Bryn Mooser for Conscious Magazine

Run This Town

A few weeks ago, my friend Hollis and I woke up extra early to get in a work out. Well, he worked out, I just took the pictures! Check them out:

This shoot was really great. We got up bright and early to get the beautiful morning light and get all the good locations before they got too busy. Mornings can be tough when it’s really really early, but we kept the yawns away by laughing, having fun and keeping it really high energy. We shot in Santa Monica and Culver city at popular work out spots. To keep the backgrounds clean I had to choose the right angles, shooting up instead of straight forward or down. This can eliminate a lot of clutter in images.

I’m originally from San Francisco and a few months ago I went up for a visit and shot at a few of my favorite locations in the city. It was a great day, here are the pictures:

I lived in San Francisco for most of my life, but this was my first time ever walking across the Golden Gate Bridge! It’s amazing the new experiences you can have and adventures you can go on with the help of your camera. Training Day – NFL Style

Last year, Fox Sports sent me to photograph a private NFL training session before the 2013 season. Here are some of the shots from that day:

 

Sometimes when you watch football on tv, you forget how much training and dedication it takes to be a star athlete. Watching these guys work out first hand was jaw dropping. Just the sheer power and athleticism is amazing. So next time you’re on the couch watching monday night football, these photos will motivate you to get off your butt and work on that killer six pack you’ve always wanted.

Last Light of Summer

As the last days of Summer come upon us we do our best to make the most of the beautiful sunshine and warm days. A few weeks ago, my friend Paige and I went for a little hike and swim at Malibu Creek State Park. The whole day was pretty magical and so are the images.

I had been wanting to do a shoot like this for some time and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Paige was such a great sport and we couldn’t have dreamed of a better location. If you get the chance, definitely take a trip up to Malibu Creek State Park. It’s an absolute wonderland with beauty at every turn.

Fit and Fun

A few weeks ago. some friends and I got together for an afternoon work out. We ran around, threw the football around and just had a really great time. Check out the pictures here:

We shot around my neighborhood in South Central Los Angeles. It amazes me how many cool and interesting places you can find just by stepping out your front door. If you don’t know where to shoot or how to find a good location, just go for a walk, you are bound to find something cool. This shoot was also a lot of fun because the talent was having a great time. If  you find it hard to shoot a larger group of people, let them talk and get to know each other a little before you start. Models that feel familiar with one another are more likely to have fun and interact naturally with each other during the shoot.

Get Out

As the weather warms up we look forward to spending more time outside, camping and enjoying nature. A few months back my friends Sam, Jen and I did just that. Here are the pictures:

I have to say this was one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever done. The whole team was so amazing and I think it really comes through in the final images. We shot up in the Angeles Forrest, just outside of LA. It’s a beautiful day trip or place to camp and explore for a few days.
